When I was growing up in New Orleans there were two sportscasters, Hap Glaudi and Buddy Diliberto, who became icons in the community. Both were newspapermen before moving into television, and both later became hosts of a popular radio show, “The Point After”, that was aired after every New Orleans Saints football game and continues on to this day.
Both Hap and Buddy were prone to a malaprop or two, but they spoke their mind and if their observations at the time proved to be less than accurate, well there was always tomorrow.
It seems like all of us are inundated with the thoughts and views of resident “experts” who are adamant that their “take on life” is the right one. But I believe the guy or gal on the street has opinions too and that sharing them can be both fun and possibly provocative.
So welcome to “The Point After!” Let the games begin!!
